谭峪九华山

说起九华山，人们首先想到的是安徽青阳九华山（佛教四大名山之一）。而我们今天要说的九华山，则是陕西西安鄠邑境内的秦岭谭峪九华山。

Talking about Jiuhua Mountain, people often think of Anhui’s Jiuhua Mountain (one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism), but today we are discussing the Jiuhua Mountain located within Tan Yu in Huyi District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province.

九华山海拔1766.4米，比安徽的九华山海拔还要高442米。当然，陕西的九华山和安徽的九华山是有一定渊源的，谭峪九华山中峰的寺庙地藏菩萨殿原仿安徽九华山，庙中供奉着地藏菩萨。

Jiuhua Mountain has an altitude of 1766.4 meters, towering 442 meters higher than its counterpart in Anhui. Indeed, Shaanxi's Jiuhua Mountain shares a historical connection with Anhui's Jiuhua Mountain. The main temple dedicated to Bodhisattva on the middle peak of Tan yu Jiuhua Mountain was originally modeled after that in Anhui, and it enshrines the Bodhisattva as well.

谭峪九华山位于鄠邑区南20公里的终南山上，地处潭峪河、抱峪沟、竹峪与皂峪沟脑之间，属石井镇地界。据民国二十二年(1933)吴继祖《重修户县志》载：“山凡四项，顶皆有庙，其绝顶为灵官殿，下为灵云塔，其上为中殿，有玉井池，再上为三殿，有虎刨泉，其右为佛洞，有石胆崖。再上为后殿，西为银铜沟，形势陡绝，殿上逾沟而上为南天门。相传山下为纯空，有佛洞燃火，其烟每至三层殿出。

Tan Yu Jiuhua Mountain is situated 20 kilometers south of Huyi District, atop Zhongnan Mountain, nestled between Tan Yu River, Bao Yu Gully, Bamboo Valley, and Soap Yu Gully, within the jurisdiction of Shijing Town. According to Wu Jizu's "Revised Hu County Annals" from the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), "The mountain has four peaks, each crowned with a temple. At the summit stands the Lingguan Hall, below which lies the Lingyun Pagoda. Above this is the Middle Temple, with the Jade Well Pool, and further up is the Third Temple, where the Tiger-Dug Spring can be found. To the right is the Buddha Cave, with the Stone Gallbladder Cliff nearby. Ascending further beyond the Silver-Copper Gorge, which presents a sheer precipice, one reaches the Rear Temple. Legend has it that beneath the mountain is a vast emptiness, with a fire burning in the Buddha Cave, and the smoke rises to emerge at the Third Temple."

九华山峰峦陡峭峻拔，山石千姿百态，又有小西岳之美称。

Jiuhua Mountain is characterized by steep and majestic peaks and rocks of myriad shapes. Also known as Little West Peak.

近年来，山下各堡村民认为九华山是鄠邑区名山名寺，尤为县级重点文物保护单位，还是革命烈士赵延平（康行）同志地下活动时的地址，因此集资捐物出劳重建庙宇数间，恢复了不少景点，旧貌再现，朝山进香及登山旅游者日渐增多，昔日九华山今又成为鄠邑区风景名胜区。

In recent years, villagers from the surrounding villages consider Jiuhua Mountain to be a famous mountain and temple in Huyi District, especially as it is a key cultural relic protection site at the county level. It was also the site of underground activities by revolutionary martyr Zhao Yanping (alias Kang Xing). As such, they have raised funds, donated goods, and contributed labor to rebuild several temples, restoring many scenic spots. The old appearance has been revived, attracting an increasing number of pilgrims, worshippers, and tourists for mountain climbing.
